Final Fantasy 8 Cheats

In-game reset:
While playing the game, hold L1 + L2 + R1 + R2 + Select + Start.

Run away:
During a battle with wild monsters, push R1 + R2. You can't perform this action with bosses.

Hidden song:
Place the game disc in an audio CD player and play track two to hear the song "Eyes On Me" by Faye Wong.

Limit Break continues:
When any one of your party members is badly injured (indicated by a yellow life gauge), press Circle repeatedly until the arrow on "<attack>" appears for a limit break.

Low level advantages:
Since the enemies level up as you do, try to keep your level as low as possible for easier battles. As long as your magic is good, defeating your opponents will not be a problem. Draw high level magic when your level is low to increase your status.

Adamantine:
Find Adamantoise on the beach west of Dollet.

Battle Meter:
Talk to Cid as soon as you get your rank reports from you SeeD field test to get the Battle Meter.

Dragon Fangs:
Go to Island Closest To Hell and fight Greendels (yellow and green things with a tail blade).

Heroes:
Card Mod a Laguna Card to get 100 Heroes. These are especially helpful against Omega Weapon and Ultimecia.

Mega Phoenix:
To get a Mega Phoenix, you must have GF Alexander and the ability Level Medicine-RF. Refine 50 Phoenix into one Mega Phoenix.

Pulse Ammo:
To get Pulse Ammo for Squall's best weapon, The Lionheart, and Irvine's best Limit Break bullets, go to the forest outside of Edea's orphanage and battle a Blitz. Mug him and you will receive a Power Generator. Use Ifrit's Ammo RF and change the Power Generator into 20 Pulse Ammo.

Rosetta Stones:
To get 100 Rosetta Stones, collect 100 Curse Spikes and refine them into 100 Dark Matter. Then refine 100 Dark Matter into 100 Shaman Stones. Finally, refine the 100 Shaman Stones into 100 Rosetta Stones.

Star Fragment:
Battle T-Rexaur and after awhile you should obtain enough Star Fragments to remodel all the weapons that require it.

Old key:
When controlling Laguna in Esthar and he gets the wrong map, go over to the big items. After Laguna's legs cramps, go straight and take a left. Go over to the items and press X to get the old key.

Dark Matter:
Collect 100 Curse Spikes and use Siren's Tool-RF Ability to refine all 100 into a Dark Matter. Dark Matter can be used in one of two ways: You can use Bahamut's Forbid Mag-RF Ability (not Forbid Med-RF) to refine 1 Dark Matter into 100 Ultimas. Dark Matter can also be used to teach Griever's Limit Break, Shockwave Pulsar, to Quistis.

Upgrading weapons:
You do not need to have read the "Weapon Monthly" magazines in order to upgrade weapons. You only need to have the correct items in your inventory. For example, if you are on Disc 1 and have 12 Pulse Ammo items, 1 Dragon Fang item, and 1 Adamantine piece, you can go to a Junk Shop and get the Lionheart blade.

Megalixers:
When fighting Sorceress Adel in Disc 4, cast Protect on Rinoa, then Mug her. There is a good chance you will get 8 Megalixers.

Proof Of Omega:
After you defeat Omega Weapon, you usually get two items (Three-Stars and Proof Of Omega). To see the Proof Of Omega, go into the information section from the Tutorial menu. It should be at the very bottom.

Disc 2 Walkthrough:
This is a walkthrough for a lot of disc 2, go to shumi village in the north east and have over 5000 gil you see 3 people on your way in talk to the middle one then the left one then the right one now talk to the middle again and answer yes and draw from the draw point, they are ultimas.
Leave shumi village and go to rajin and fugin in the hotel in balamb cast ultima again and again you WILL win.Go to trabia do all the orphanage stuff then leave trabbia.Now gow south where there is nothing on the map keep searching in the south there is a lighthouse, go in.Carry on forward, the second statue you see has an eye take it out carry on till you see an entrance go in press X on the gadget, go to the entrance you saw earlier and press X on that gadget as well now go to the top put the eye in, it will give you a code, write it down, take both eyes out and go back to the other statue put both eyes in a flame will appear and enter the code there a door will open below you now go in there you will face odin he does not attack if you are quick but if he attacks say GOODBYE to yourself he takes of about 8000 on 2 people TRUST ME he has 7000 hp himsef he will join you if you beat him now in 1 in 10 battles to make you instantly win basicly and you get his card he,s got an ace rating anyway now go to the island closest to hell you need ragnorok to get there i don\'t know how to get it i\'m afraid but i hope this has helped you.

Disc 4:
On Disc 4 , When you have obtained the Ragnarok , notice that you cant go anywhere , why dont you go to the card queen , located at the bottom part of Esthar the Abadan Plains , she has every rare card you don't have except for chicobo LV8 and Gilgamesh LV8 from card queen , she ask you to play with whatever rule she desires
