Submachine gun, miscellaneous items:
While playing the game, push Triangle, X, Square, Circle, Triangle, Up. You will see a message at the top of the screen if you have entered the code correctly. Simply re-enter the code to disable the effect of the code.

Level select:
Finish the game. Your cleared save game file will now be marked "All levels unlocked". Load it to choose any level to be played.
