Ideal characters:
The previous skill cap is still in place for this expansion pack (700 points). Therefore the ideal character should have 100 for about 7 skills. Certain templates will require 8-10 skills therefore a balancing act will need to be performed. These templates will require gamers to keep a close eye on this part of the game.

New classes:
The Age of Shadows expansion pack comes with the Paladin and Necromancer classes. These two sides have been fighting a war so they can get the other class off the land. Gamers have the opportunity to choose whether they want to be on the good or evil side.

Paladin:
This is the good side and the Paladin can call upon a divine power to help aid himself and his group mates in battle. This includes healing, curing poison, and improving his fighting abilities. These and other advance abilities can be used by building up your chivalry skills. This skill will increase every time you cast a Paladin spell. The more powerful the Karma of the Paladin is the more powerful his spell will be. The key to be a Paladin is to perform as many good deeds as possible and donating coinage at various shrines along the way (Divine Power).

Necromancer:
This race is the masters of evil. Their dark powers and poor rep helps them become more powerful. Their specialty is spells of destruction and changing into sinister creatures. More importantly gamers who choose this side can raise the dead and have an army of the undead fight for them. The Necromancer skill is most important skill to keep an eye on when playing with this character. The higher this skill is the more effective his spells will be. An easy way to raise this skill is by casting spells and increasing your negative karma rating.

Malas:
This new land mass is split in half with one part occupied by the Paladins and the other part occupied by the necromancers. Malas is the largest expansion landmass to date and also features the largest dungeon DOOM. Players will need to team up if they are to cleanse this dungeon of evil as the enemies become more difficult the farther you go in.

Building a house:
A custom house tool is included with this expansion pack which makes house construction relatively easy. All you have to do is find a plot of land and ascertain the required amount of gold. The difference between classic and custom house is that custom houses tend to be cheaper in the long run since you build it the way you want to in the first place rather than spending gold to modify houses.
