Diplomacy:
You will find the Diplomacy
structure in this game to be very complex and the first thing
you'll want to do is get a fair idea of the various alliances and
treaties in effect at the start of the game. Most nearly everyone is tied by mutual
protection pacts to at least a few other states so the second you go to war with
someone, you're likely to set off a powder keg that brings two or three other
nations into the conflict on either side. Knowing just when and how to set off
the spark is a key strategy in this game.

Invincibility of infantry and ships:
Ed. note: problems have been reported with this cheat. Eidos, the game\'s
publisher, has said that there are no \"official\" cheats for this
game!
On battle screen press crtl+shift+Q. A console bar should appear. Type in
SHIPMASTER and all ships in your fleet will become invincible. Type in GENERAL
WELLINGTON and all your infantry units on the battle field will now be
invincible.
